  1. The R.C.A.F. extend . . . . an Assurance of Loyalty to His Majesty King George VI. How things have changed over the past 75 years. I wonder what a publication similar in substance to “Wings Abroad” would say today.

    • The people in Canada loved the King then. Mr. Corbeil shook his hand in 1944 when the King visited Tholthorpe.

      • People in Canada nowadays come from different ethnic backgrounds so I would say only people with British ancestors would still have a sense of loyalty towards the Queen and her family in my own opinion.
